Bonnie Raitt

Bonnie Raitt

Although Bonnie has been making great music since the early 70s I only found her after seeing her live on TV in the 80s.  I was blown away immediately by the power of her voice and wonderful soulful slide playing.

We have seen Bonnie in concert several times over the years, including twice on the 2006 UK leg of her Souls Alike tour (Manchester and Sheffield).  As always, she was incredible and flawless when playing live!

I was so keen to see her again that I flew over to County Mayo (we hope to move house to there asap!) in Ireland for one night to see her again before she left for Europe.  It was a very small venue and although she is still relatively unknown in Ireland and the venue was far from full, the gig was breathtaking - and I got a seat very close to the stage. :-)  I hope she tours over here again soon!

The band were clearly having a great time and Bonnie said several times that she wished she could play more small venues like that one.  After the gig I was lucky enough to meet Bonnie and Hutch Hutchinson (bass player) and get her autograph.  What lovely people, as well as being such exceptional musicians!  What a night to remember!

Here are a few pics I took that night
